River Crossing

Bull Moose (Alces alces) - Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado

High up in the Rocky Mountains, snow melts and water flows down into the Kawuneeche  valley, forming a lazy meandering stream that is, believe it or not, the beginning of the Colorado River. It's hard to imagine this little river high up in the Rockies is the beginning of one of the world's greatest rivers, forming such natural wonders as the Grand Canyon, before emptying into the Gulf of California.
