Main Street Breckenridge Colorado
A heavy January snowstorm blankets historic downtown Breckenridge. Founded in 1859, Breckenridge was established to house the many miners that made their way to the mountains during the gold rush. Today, over 150 years later, mining relics can be found all over the county. Many of the original historic buildings in Breckenridge are still being occupied on Main Street. The gold mines in and around Breckenridge are no longer in use, but snow, the new highly sought after treasure, keeps people flocking to this beautiful mountain town.
