In Velvet

It's mid-July and already this large bull moose has an impressive set of antlers. Still in velvet, they will continue to grow until fall. At that point their antlers will be full grown and shed of their velvet, sharpened and hardened as a fine tuned weapon. In mid to late winter they will shed these massive crowns and the process will start all over again.
