Awakening

I visited this site a few days prior to making this image. It was, for the most part barren and lifeless.  A few days of summer rain storms moving across the rockies were enough to spur this rebirth in the mountains. Summers at this altitude are extremely short, but for a few weeks in July the mountainsides come alive with an amazing array of colors.
