Midnight Vigil
Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) - Kachemak Bay - Alaska
Sitting atop a large boulder at low tide overlooking Kachemak bay, a bald eagle stares off towards the setting sun. One of the great things about summer in Alaska is that you can take photos late into the night. This image was taken somewhere around midnight.
