Mounting and Matting Options:

Customers have the option to purchase fine art print in one of three ways.

1.) Print Only: Signed limited edition print will be shipped to the customer flat in a box or rolled in a tube, depending on size.

2.) Mounted Print: Prints will be professionally mounted to 3/16th inch acid free foam core. This option eliminates the chances of the print being damaged before framing and ensures a professional mount of your print on archival board. This choice is best for customers who who would like to choose their own matting options, while still getting a guaranteed professionally mounted print. The papers we choose to print on are the finest in the industry. It is important to have these special papers mounted by a professional who is familiar with handling these products. Obviously all mounted prints will need to be shipped flat, which will require a very reasonable extra shipping and handling charge compared to the "print only" option.

3.) Mounted and Double Matted Print: Mounted and double matted prints will be mounted on acid free foam core. (see above paragraph for mounting details) The print will then be double matted with conservation grade 4 ply museum rag mat board. These cotton based boards meet conservation standards and are naturally acid and lignin free. This mat board is optimized to resist fading or bleeding. These are the mats that are used on original works of fine art, rare or antique documents and items of historical signifigance. Today virtually all museums and libraries use museum rag to protect their important pieces of art and documents. Cotton rag board is totally natural, and therefore, more environmentally friendly. It is free of the harmful contaminates and harsh chemicals found in wood pulp mats. It is important to have the best mats framing your image, not only for aesthetic value, but also to ensure your photo will last a lifetime. Double matting means there will be a bottom mat and a top mat with a small offset around the print, giving the image a greater sense of depth than can be achieved by using only one mat. Standard double matting is "glove white" in color for a classic look. Mats are cut professionally with a CNC mat cutter, allowing for precise cuts on every mat, no matter the size. Print will arrive ready for framing and glass. There will be a link under every print that will take you to a rendering of what your print will look like matted.

Shipping: Producing professional museum quality photos takes time. We strive to get your images to you as soon as possible (usually within 2-3 weeks from ordering) Extra options such as mounting and matting may require extra time. Usually these presentation options only take a day or two longer to leave the lab than "print only" orders, but to be safe, it is important to note that prints ordered mounted or matted may require an additional 2 weeks to arrive, on top of the print processing time.

*** All info described above refers to our "standard mat" color of "glove white" If you would like something other than that color we would be happy to work with you on choosing a color combination that works best for you at the same price, but please note that choosing a "non-standard" mat will significantly increase production time. ***

Framing:

Due to logistical concerns we do not currently offer framing on any images, but it is highly recommended that they be taken to your local framer to be professionally framed. This is important for asthetic value but also because your print must be protected to ensure a long life.

*** Please note that while we don't offer framing or glass, we do highly recommend that prints be framed with museum glass, often referred to as conservation glass. Professional framers will know this term if you ask for it. By choosing this grade of glass you will get much more from your final piece of art. You have already purchased some of the best products available, from paper to mat boards, a bad piece of glass can really take away from the beauty and clarity of your print. If you have any questions, or need suggestions for framing ideas please do not hesitate to contact us and ask. Nate has gallery experience and has worked extensively with custom framing, and would be happy to assist you with any ideas ***

*** Rendered mat example is shown to give the customer an idea of what their image will look like matted. Keep in mind that this is just a visual example that may not show the exact dimensions, or exact colors of what your matted print will look like ***
